What to do after an accident

  • Seek medical attention for anyone who may be hurt.
  • Secure the aircraft from further damage.
  • Don't discuss the accident with anyone other than the FAA, local law enforcement.
  • Call N.A.I.A. as soon as possible to start the claims process.

What to do when you need to turn in a claim
Something unfortunate has happened and now you need to turn in a claim. The first step to reporting the claim is to contact N.A.I.A. We will contact your insurance company to report the claim and we will stay involved in the claims process as much as possible to insure your claim is handled in a professional, expediant and fair manner.

The claims process
Each company has their own way of investigating a claim. Some will appoint an independent adjuster to investigate your claim and others will use their own internal adjusters.
Regardless of which process the company will use, you will need to provide the adjuster numerous documents. The documentation include but are not limited to: Airworthiness certificate, registration, title, engine and airframe logbooks, pilot certificate, medical certificate and a few other items.
The insurance company will investigate your claim, review the policy between the company and yourself and consult with you to discuss the best course of action to take to resolve the claim.
